YouTube and Google

RecipesMD uses YouTube API Services. Video thumbnails load from YouTube’s servers, and when you press play, the video plays in YouTube’s embedded player, which may set its own cookies. Google’s use of that data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. Using the site means you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.

What we store

• Saves. Your saved recipes stay in your browser (local storage). When you save, our server adds one to that recipe’s public counter. To count each device and network only once, it keeps salted hashes of a random device ID cookie and of your IP address, never the raw values.
• Link requests. When you paste a video link, we store the link, the time and where it came from (the paste box), so the video can be read. Your IP address is used in memory to limit abuse and is not written down.
• Settings. Your light or dark theme and your weekly plan are kept in your browser only.
• No accounts. There are no sign-ups, passwords, names or email addresses.
• Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to count page visits. It sets Google cookies, covered by the Google Privacy Policy above.
